Ah, the dreaded water marble day. I was looking forward to this day, and I even thought to myself, “this is going to be a fun challenge!” But you know what? I really haven’t changed my mind. Water marbles are so dang hard. I have a lot of respect for anybody who can do them well! It’s funny, because water marbling is what got me into nail art in the first place. I watched a youtube tutorial on how to water marble – and I spent so many hours making my own attempt! But the truth is, I have not mastered the art of the water marble. On a scale of 1 – 10, I find it ridiculously difficult and frustrating! But I persevered for you all today – and in honor of the 31 Day Challenge, I did not give up! I present to you my Sally Hansen water marble.

I dropped a bunch of polish in a cup of water, drew designs with a tooth pick, and then stuck my finger in the cup! (and prayed and hoped for the best). If you want to learn how to water marble, I will gladly refer you to My Simple Little Pleasures – she is the master. For today’s look, I used Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet and Jazzy Jade. I added some dots with Jessica Meet at the Plaza. I topped it off with one coat of INM Northern Lights, and one coat of Seche Vite.

  • That’s pretty! I like that you only used two colors for the water marble and that you added some gold dots to it too. Love the glitter you layered over the nails too.

  • Pretty! You and I are in the same boat with water marbling, but for what it’s worth I think this is gorgeous! With the dots it reminds me of a feather for some reason… Is that weird? Haha. Great job. šŸ™‚

  • I think you did a beautiful job on these. Love the colors and the Northern Lights addition!

  • Oh this is so pretty!! I love the colors that you used!

  • Fabulouso!

  • This looks gorgeous! I like water marbling, but I always prefer to do accents like this because it is less infuriating (and less work) than doing ALL TEN fingers. I always love to add dots too. šŸ˜‰
