Digital Dozen does Re-Creation: Vintage Floral Fabric

Vintage Floral Fabric | The Dalai Lama's Nails

I am beyond excited for today’s post. I’m also a little nervous, because I so look up to gorgeous freehand looks, and I’ve tackled one of her gorgeous freehand looks! I loved this vintage fabric floral nail art from the moment Lindsey posted it – who am I kidding, I love all her art :) I was really drawn to the colors in this look, in addition to the pretty pretty florals.

Lindsey is one of the nicest and most generous bloggers I’ve ever met. What I mean is that – if you need help, Lindsey will help you (if she can!). Her explanation of her lighting set up radically transformed the quality of photos on my blog (erm – still a work in process…). The other way Lindsey has revolutionized my nail art is by suggesting acrylic paint. I used to be totally anti-paint, which is SO silly. You can achieve different things when you use paint – which I have seen on Wondrously Polished! Maybe this is a fan-girl thing to say, but I aspire to be like Wondrously Polished!

I used the same base polish that Lindsey used – OPI My Vampire is Buff. Mine was a little goopy, so I had to thin it down a little! Then I used (dun dun dun!) acrylic paints and a small art brush to do the floral. I tried to match my colors to the original as best as I could. I topped everything off with Seche Vite.Vintage Floral Fabric | The Dalai Lama's NailsI love this nail art, you guys. I never want to take it off!

Digital Dozen does Re-creationI’m obsessed with this week. It’s SO fun!
