I know that the theme for this month’s Digital Dozen is Metal – but to be totally honest with you, I already got kind of sick of metallic polish. Truth be told, I don’t own that many. Yep, it’s true! So, I decided to do some searching and figure out how I could possibly represent something metal that doesn’t use any metallic polish, and it came to me! The Jetsons. I used to watch the Jetsons when I was a kid, and all of the metallic futuristic stuff always was blue. Including Rosie, the robot maid! I love the designs of what I’ll call retro robots – what people used to imagine robots would look like. So, I decided to do a little portrait of Rosie’s face, along with some background retro atomic print. And I didn’t use any metallics!
I applied two thicker coats of Zoya Purity for my base. It’s a great, pigmented white polish, if you’re ever searching for one! I created Rosie’s outline with Sally Hansen Black Out, and filled her eyes in with Zoya America. The light blue is a mix of Zoya Breezi and Purity, and the accents are all done with Breezi. The atomic print was kind of blobbed on with a dotting tool, and the lines were drawn with a medium length striper. I top coated my creation, and then finished with Loreal Matte top coat. Tada!
