I love trees. I love nature art. Something I love about trees is how they indicate the seasons – and the stark, bare trees against a bright sky really tells me it’s winter (and, you know, the freezing temperatures help, too!). I really love the leaves in the fall, but there’s something so crisp about bare trees in the winter. Crisp and starkly pretty.
For this nail art, I started with two coats of Sally Hansen White On. I need to get some new white polish – my bottles have all become thick and almost unworkable. I think at this point I’ve just thinned them out one time too many! After that dried, I used a nail art brush and Jessica NY State of Mind to create the branches for a silhouetted look. I applied a coat of Seche Vite, and then a coat of OPI Matte Top Coat. I feel like the matte doesn’t chip as easily when I apply a layer of regular top coat, first.
What are the things that really remind you of winter? Snow? Bare trees? Or is it sunny where you live? Tell me about it in the comments!
