I get tons of questions about everything related to nails and blogging – hope this FAQ will help! Feel free to email me with any other questions.
Q – How did you learn to do your nails?
A – Lots of practice! I do my nails all the time, and can honestly say practice has helped me improve my skill enormously! There are tons of tutorials out there, and I find a good tutorial is a great place to start.
Q – Are those stickers?
A – Probably not, no. I have worn nail stickers in the past, but pretty much all the art you see on this blog is hand painted by me (unless otherwise explicitly stated). I very occasionally use stamps, as well.
Q – Are those your real nails?
A – Yep! I try to take good care of them and moisturize constantly.
Q – How do you take nail pictures?
A – I use a Nikon D3100 and a light tent like this one. A key part to good nail pictures is great lighting! I use a full spectrum lamp like this one, which I find makes my photos color accurate.
Q – What base coat and top coat do you use?
A – I’m always on the search for the best top coat! I used to use Seche Vite, but it’s kind of expensive and it shrinks and gets goopy! I still sometimes use it, though – it gets better with a little polish thinner. My favorite go-to lately has been Sally Hansen Dries Instantly top coat. For base coats, I switch around a lot. I like Essie Millionails as well as any of Sally Hansen’s base coats.
Q – What brushes do you use?
A – I have a number of brushes that I bought at Michael’s – you can buy any craft store. I switch out my brushes a lot, and am excited to try some new ones.
Q – How can I request a product review?
A – Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll be happy to be in touch!
