Ride the Wave: Summer Nail Art with Essie

Posted on 3

Essie Summer Waves Nail ArtAs much as I love complex nail art, sometimes a simple color blocked look just really knocks my socks off. It’s simple and elegant, and still interesting to look at. I love clean lines and clean, cool colors, too. Plus, I think I have jumped right into summer nail art. Summer really seems to have gripped me – there have been some days in the 80s here already, and I’ve very much got that pool-time vibe! I guess spending a week in Mexico really pushed me into the summer mood.

I started by applying a base of Essie Where’s My Chauffeur?, which is one of my all time favorite Essie shades. It’s got great pigmentation and is just such a gorgeous turquoise! Love it. I used the bottle brush of Essie Mesmerize to create a wave shape, and when that was dry I lined it with a black It’s So Easy Striper. I affixed a small rhinestone to the corner of each nail while my top coat was still wet. I used Sally Hansen Dries Instantly for my top coat, as my Seche Vite has gone all gloppy and I haven’t had a chance to buy any thinner.
