I’m back from vacation! Thanks to all of the wonderful guest posters who took over while I was sipping margaritas on the beach (!). I hope everybody took a peak at their excellent and gorgeous nail art. They truly made my vacation all the more relaxing, knowing that you were in well manicured hands. As for me, I really had a great time. My husband and I spent our 1 year anniversary with some dear friends in Cancun. We stayed at a fabulous resort, and generally spent time splashing around, soaking in the sun, and relaxing. I did some simple nail art for the trip using Couture Gel Nail Polish. Even though I spent hours soaking my hands every day for a week (hello swimming!), these gels stayed on for the full length of my trip. This is the perfect simple summer nail art for my trip.
I had never done a gradient using gel before, so this was a bit of an experiment. I started by prepping my nails for a gel manicure, and applied and cured one coat of Turning Heads, a lovely orange with a slight bit of shimmer. I then sponged on a little bit of After Party, being careful not to get any on my skin. After curing that, I decided to blend it more by sponging on more of Turning Heads. The accent glitter nail is one coat of Champagne Diet.
That’s a photo of me and the hubs at Tulum, Mayan ruins. Surprisingly, I didn’t take a lot of photos on the trip – honestly, it was so hot that we spent most of the time trying to cool off!
