I love spring and summer because of all the blooming, beautiful flowers come out! There’s always such a gorgeous mix of flowers. Plus, who said summer has to be all neon all the time (I mean, I may have said that… I do love neon)? I found inspiration for summer floral nail art while perusing an amazing blog called Print and Pattern, which is full of interesting design found on cards, mugs, wrapping paper – you name it! I am often inspired by patterns, and I even started a Pinterest board dedicated to patterns that I think would make amazing nail art – check it out! This nail art was inspired by two different images: this floral illustration by Holly McDonald and this pattern by Jessica Wilde. I loved the colors and thought they would fit nicely together!
The colors I used where OPI My Vampire is Buff, OPI Yoga-ta Get This Blue!, Essie Nothing Else Metals, Zoya Josie, and INM Northern Lights. I used a very fine detailing brush to create all my shapes, and a dotting tool to add some detail to the flowers. Everything is topped off with a thick coat of Seche Vite – which I am back to loving again!
What’s your favorite color scheme for summer?
