I can’t believe another month has come and gone already! I think I say that every month – and maybe it’s just because I traveled a bunch in May. Today I’m back today with another twin post – this time, though, we’re triplets! Our Facebook group are all working on flowers, and my triplet was assigned with roses. Be sure to check out my other triplet posters, Nail Art Novice and Manis and Makeovers! I’ve done a lot of the antique style of roses, so I really pushed myself to try a totally new style. We decided to use black, white, and a pop of neon, and I felt inspired to create a more intricate accent. I love the way the neon roses turned out – so bright and summery!
I began by applying two coats of Sinful Colors Snow Me White to my ring finger. On the other fingers, I applied two coats of Sally Hansen Black Out. I added one coat of Shimmer Bernice to my thumb and index finger (which I will be reviewing soon!). Using a small detail brush, I painted on the outline of the rose, and filled it in with China Glaze Purple Panic for the petals and Essie The More the Merrier for the leaves. I realized when I had finished that not a lot of white was left showing – though I used it to make the neons pop, I wish I had featured it a bit more!
I had so much fun coming up with this nail art look! I love the challenge of re-imagining something as I see as standard, and I’m pleased with this alternative rose style! Thanks for pushing me to try something new, girls!
